JVC Recordable CD System

This JVC Recordable CD System, model BC-TW2000, allowed users to record material on a CD. The equipment was manufactured in April 1994 and has serial number S40400000908.

The approach was to connect this equipment to a computer or other device through a cable that utilized the a Small Computer System Interface, or SCSI, protocol.

  • The SCSI cable included here provides the connection to outside equipment.
  • When a SCSI connection was not being used, a SCSI terminator was used to maintain appropriate electrical properties for this machine. A TMS-50PN SCSI terminator is included here.

The CD itself was inserted into a tray, and that tray placed in the CD slot at the front of the machine. Connections on the back allow both input from one computer and output to another machine.
