This document, written by Henry Walker, lays out a detailed comparison of the Sun and DEC workstation offerings. The attached memo from Gene Herman indicates that only Sun and DEC are compared because IBM's bid had been ruled out by this point, and that the Math faculty involved in preparing a recommendation were "on the verge" of again recommending Sun workstations for purchase.
