MathLAN design document: "Outline of Current and Projected Computer Uses"

Document prepared by the Math faculty identifying in detail how both academic and general computing tasks were currently accomplished and how they might be better accomplished using the MathLAN as proposed. Three tables documenting computer use (software packages and machine environments) for various purposes with the existing computing infrastructure, identifying current deficiencies, expanded capabilities desired, and desired software packages and the machine environments on which they were available. Tables corresponding to "Uses in Traditional Mathematics Courses," "Uses in Computer Science Courses," and "General Uses." From Stone's "MathLAN" file.
