TRS-80 Model 100 Portable Computer

Sold by Radio Shack, the TRS-80 is considered the first laptop computer. The machine was designed by Kyocera, and released in 1983. Upon release it cost $599. The 32k ROM chip in it was programmed by Bill Gates and Jey Suzuki. This was the last project where Bill Gates wrote the majority of the code. The built-in capabilities of the TRS-80 included Microsoft BASIC programming language, word processing software, telecommunication software, a 300 baud modem. Also included are the machine's quick reference guide, instruction manual, and user's encyclopedia.
