TANDY Portable Disk Drive 2

The TANDY Portable Disk Drive 2 was manufactured in 1985. It has a 3.5" disk drive and runs up to 10 hours on 4 AA cells or (much longer) with AC adapter. Connects to Model 100 serial port. Provides 100K of external storage for less than 2 pounds of weight. With utilities disk and manual. Uses standard 720K 3.5" floppy disks; format is single side, 40 tracks, 2 sectors per track, 1280 bytes per sector. In short, Incompatible with just about everything.

Just as the TANDY 102 Portable was purchased Beryl Clotfelter in 1987 for use in Grinnell-in-London, this was also used in GIL.

This portable Disk Drive comes along with a Disk Box which contains an Utility Diskette Copy and other 3 1/2 " Floppy disks. It also comes with a serial Cable and an AC Adapter for power supply.
