The Apple Language System greatly enhances the power of the Apple II Computer because it gives a full 64 kilobytes of random-access memory (RAM), as much as the microprocessor can address directly. With the Apple Language Sysytem, the user can operate the computer directly in Integer BASIC, Applesoft BASIC, and Pascal.

The heart of the Language System is the language Card, which adds 16K to the apple's 48K of RAM. In addition, it includes the Autostart ROM IC (Integrated Circuit), which facilitates screen editing of BASIC programs and automatically starts your disk drive when you turn on the computer.

This manual provides more information about installing, configuring and maintaining the Apple Language System
