The Tandy 1000 TL/2, available from Radio Shack Corporation in about 1986, used the Intel 80286 processor running at 8 MHz. The computer came with 640 kilobytes of main memory, and users could expand this by 128 kilobytes (but this extra memory often was used specifically with a video graphics card). Various enthusiasts touted the machines "3-voice" sound card and its EGA graphics. DOS-3 with Windows 2.03 provided a standard operating-system environment.
