The Apple II serial interface card make the the Apple II be able to connect with printers or the Apple II's TV screen. The manual starts out with a how to guide on installation of the card. The card can use the RS-232 standard. The RS-232 standard specifies the electrical parameters. The speed is measured in “baud”, which is about 10 baud for 1 character a second. This card can 256 different speeds, ranging from 75 to 19,200 baud. This card could handle other modes.

This book came with an addendum. This addendum explains how one would get typerwriter quality prints through the card.
